It’s unsurprising to many that Mediterranean Cruises are popular choice for families between the months of April to September – beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, and rich history and culture all under an umbrella of a warm sunny climate, couple this with spectacular ships sailing from the UK and you have the makings for an unforgettable holiday. Whilst many families will opt to travel during the school holiday months of July and August, other more flexible travellers seeking cooler weather and fewer tourists may find the shoulder months of April, May and September more suitable. However, if you wanted to increase your chances of enjoying hot, sunny weather while also avoiding crowds, June is also a good time to cruise the Mediterranean as school holidays are yet to commence.
Particular interests and reasons for travel also play a major factor in when best to cruise the Med. For wine aficionados the wine harvest season of September, when the grapes become ripe and ready for fermentation, holds great appeal and offers an extra layer of interest to wine tours and tastings.
